Two boys who planned to carry out a massacre at a school in Northallerton have been ordered to be detained for 12 and 10 years.
The two 15-year-olds had denied conspiracy to murder but were convicted after a trial at Leeds Crown Court.
The boys had planned a repeat of the Columbine High School massacre in America nearly 20 years ago.
During the three-week trial, jurors heard how the boys had prepared a "hit list" of people they wanted to kill, including fellow students and teachers who had supposedly bullied or wronged them.
Analysis of their devices showed that they had researched weapons online and had both downloaded a bomb-making manual.
