A 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and wounding after two men were stabbed in Sheffield in the early hours of this morning.
Police were called to Walkley Lane in Hillsborough where two men had been attacked at around 12.20am.
A 31-year-old man is in a life-threatening condition in hospital, while a 29-year-old has been released following treatment.
Officers have cordoned off the scene of the attacks, so both Forbes Road and Walkley Lane are closed at the junction with Thoresby Road.
The incident comes amid South Yorkshire Police's week-long Operation Sceptre campaign to crackdown on knife crime in the city - with knife arches and information stalls touring towns and cities across the region.
Anyone with information that may aid police is being urged to call 101 quoting log 16 of September 23.
