Row, row, row your pumpkin, gently down the Ouse

A giant pumpkin has been turned into a makeshift boat and sailed down the River Ouse this morning as part of a world record attempt.

Weighing a whopping 619 kilos - and captained by Tom Pearcy from York Maze - it was rowed from the Ouse Bridge to Skeldergate to make it the world's biggest pumpkin boat.
