Shops across the region have signed up to the UK's first 'Purple Tuesday', a campaign to encourage businesses to become more accessible to customers with disabilities.

Campaigners want more shops to provide ramps and disabled toilets to shoppers. They also say staff need better training to support people with dementia or learning difficulties.

Rich Sharp Wilson, owner of the Bean & Nothingness cafe in Hull, said his business had gained from making more provisions.
