Teenager, 16, sexually assaulted on Rotherham golf course

A 16 year old has been sexually assaulted as she walked through a golf course in Rotherham.

It happened at around 9 pm on Saturday December 29th. The man approached the teenager from behind and assaulted her as she walked through Phoenix Golf Course near to Grange Lane in the Brinsworth area of the town.

The man was said to be wearing dark blue ripped jeans, a light blue denim jacket and brown smart shoes.

A thorough investigation is underway and at this stage we are treating this as an isolated incident.

We are working with the victim and her family to offer them support and reassurance.
