Two people appear in court after man's body found in South Yorks beauty spot

Two people have appeared in court over the murder of a man found in a South Yorkshire beauty spot.

48 year old Gary Dean’s body was found in woodland on the Trans Pennine Trail near his home in September.

Scott Dawson, aged 41, from Allotts Court, Barnsley and 71 year old Carol Dawson of Stonewood Grove are accused of killing Mr Dean who was found at Silkstone Common last year.

The pair appeared at Sheffield Magistrates Court this morning (Saturday February 16, 2019) . They were remanded for trial at Sheffield Crown Court. They will appear at the crown court for a pre trial hearing on Monday. Michael Billington reports.
