The Home Office has released a statement confirming four children and six adults were found trapped inside a container at a Humber port.
Ambulances rushed to the Port of Hull and the Port of Killingholme on Thursday afternoon with Border Control officers seen sweeping both docks either side of the Humber.
Officers eventually stood down in Hull before a police dog tracked a mobile phone signal to find 10 migrants inside a container at the Port of Killingholme.
The C.Ro Ports Terminal was placed in "lockdown", according to eyewitnesses, with a police helicopter also seen in the area.
Amomg the group, who were from Syria and Iraq, was a pregnant woman and four of the adults were taken to Grimsby's Diana Princess of Wales Hospital.
There had initially been rumours circulating that a number of people may have died but the Home Office has now confirmed the circumstances of yesterday’s discovery.
