Eight-month-old kitten put down after being shot by air weapon in York

Police are appealing for witnesses after an eight month-old kitten was shot by an air weapon.

The ginger kitten, known as 'Biscuit', was taken to a local vet, who found a pellet embedded in the cat's spine.

North Yorkshire Police say that, as a result, the animal had to be put to sleep.

The brutal attack happened on Almsford Road, in Acomb near York, on Monday.
