North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information after a pregnant sheep was shot in Kirkby Malham near Skipton.

It happened between 10pm on Monday 1 April and around 10am the following day.

The sheep was in a field with the rest of its flock near to an area known as Acraplatts.

Sadly the sheep has died from her injuries along with her lambs.

Police are investigating the incident after a vet’s post mortem showed the sheep died after being shot.

As part of their enquiries officers are appealing to anyone who has any information about the incident or saw any suspicious activity in the area.
