Two women arrested after woman hit by car and another assaulted in Bridlington

Two women have been arrested after a woman was hit by a car and another assault in Bridlington.

Police were called to Cardigan Road at around 12.35am after reports a white Vauxhall Astra van had crashed into a stationary van.

“There was then an altercation between the female occupants of the Astra and the van, during which a woman was assaulted, falling to floor and injuring her head.

The Astra was later found in Westgate in Driffield where two women were arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop at the scene of an accident, criminal damage to a property, criminal damage to a vehicle and driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs.

Two women, aged 29 and 32, are in custody helping police with their enquiries.
