Kavan Brissett murder: Police release new CCTV

Murder squad detectives have released new CCTV footage of a man they want to question over the death of Kavan Brissett in Sheffield eight months ago.

The pictures show Ahmed Farrah, 30, who's been named as the prime suspect in the case, on the night Kavan was attacked.

He was walking towards the Minor injuries unit at Sheffield's Royal Hallamshire Hospital where he was treated for facial injuries.

Police believe he got those injuries earlier that night in the attack near to Langsett Walk.

Kavan Brissett, 21, was in that area when he was stabbed once in the chest. He died four days later in hospital.

Farrah - who is also known as Reggie - is from the Broomhall area of Sheffield but also has links to Cardiff.

Detective Chief Inspector Jude Ashmore, leading the investigation, said: “My appeal today is simple - someone knows where Farrah is, or where he has been staying.

"Farrah knows he is wanted by police and I do believe there are people who have information as to where he could be but haven’t yet come forward."

The footage we have released today shows Farrah, on the night of Kavan’s death, walking towards the Hallamshire Hospital and attending the Minor Injuries Clinic.

He was treated for facial injuries, which we believe he sustained earlier that evening near to Langsett Walk.

“Farrah returned to the hospital the following morning on Wednesday 15 August. But it is also possible that he sought treatment somewhere else in the days after what happened."
