Barnsley will celebrate their promotion to the Championship with an open-top bus parade from Oakwell tonight.

The Tykes return to the second-tier after finishing as runners up in this year's League One tables.

The bus will be leaving Barnsley's home ground at 6.30pm, before travelling along Pontefract Road, Schwäbisch Gmünd Way, Eldon Street and Market Hill.

Club bosses expect the route to the Town Hall to take approximately 15 minutes, with the team expected to make a balcony appearance from 6.45pm.

“We hope that there will be a sea of supporters in the town centre on Wednesday to show the Tykes how proud Barnsley is of them.”

– Cllr Steve Green, Mayor of Barnsley

“Thank you to everyone who has helped us along the way and to help arrange our celebrations. We are looking forward to seeing everyone.”

– Daniel Stendel, Barnsley head coach
