Thousands of people from Sheffield have gathered in the city centre today (3 June) to protest against the state visit to Britain by US President Donald Trump.

The demonstration, 'Sheffield Together Against Trump', is taking place at Barkers Pool in the Sheffield city centre.

There will also be transport from the city to a national demonstration in London tomorrow.

A spokesperson for the protesters said:

Last year, a quarter of a million people mobilised in London, and 4,000 in Sheffield alone, to say no to Trump's politics of hate and division.
