South Yorkshire police officers have a pro-duck-tive morning

South Yorkshire police officers were met with an unusual traffic situation earlier today.

Sheffield PCs Jones and Walker were called to the Parkway following reports of disruption.

As the officers arrived they quickly identified the problem; a mother and her brood of ducklings had flown the nest and were winging it across the road. This was causing chaos for motorists.

PC Jones and PC Walker managed to quite literally get their ducks in a row, quickly clearing the scattered birds to the side of the road. Unfortunately in their panic, several of the ducklings fell between the quacks and down a drain.

With traffic now passing safely, it was down to Firearms Support Group Sergeant Clive Tyree to bring them back to safety.

The ducklings mother "absconded" from officers meaning the six ducklings are now with RSPCA Sheffield. The RSPCA will now work to reunite the ducklings with Mother Duck.
