Council bans BBQs on Bradford moorland following devastating wildfires

The use of barbecues on moorland across the Bradford district has now been banned.

A Public Space Protection Order is now in place which also covers sky lanterns, fireworks and any other dangerous items which could spark fires.

This comes after a number of a wildfires destroyed large swathes of land in areas such as Ilkley Moor earlier this year. The ban will run for three years before it is reviewed.

We have some of the country's best moorland in Bradford District so it’s important we all play our part in keeping it safe so it can be enjoyed by everyone."
