TRANSFER NEWS: Sheffield United snap up two deadline day signings
Sheffield United clinched two late, late signings on transfer deadline day.
Bosnian midfielder Mo Besic joins on a season-long loan from Everton.
The 26-year-old has been at Goodison Park for five years and spent last season on loan at Middlesbrough.
Also arriving is 34-year-old Dutch goalkeeper Michael Verrips from Belgium's Mechelen. He will provide experienced competition for the Blades' loan keeper Dean Henderson.
Meanwhile Blades winger Mark Duffy has left for Stoke.
Across the city, Sheffield Wednesday signed three players on deadline day.
Australia midfielder Massimo Luongo (26) moves from QPR for a reported £1m fee, winger Jacob Murphy arrives on loan from Newcastle United, and Scottish centre-back David Bates makes a loan move from Hamburg in Germany.
Luongo, 26, had been with the Rs for four seasons, scoring 10 goals in 152appearances in all competitions.
Another Australian on the move is Huddersfield's star midfielder Aaron Mooy.
The international has just penned a new three year contract with the Terriers, but then immediately left for a season-long loan to Premier League Brighton.
Switching places is Chelsea midfielder Trevor Chalobah, who arrives in Huddersfield. Meanwhile Town goalkeeper Ben Hamer has left for Derby.
Hull City had arguably the busiest deadline day, with four new signings.
In came Matthew Pennington on loan from Premier League Everton.
He was joined by Australian defender Callum Elder from Leicester City, midfielder Leonardo Da Silva Lopes from Wigan, and striker Josh Magennis from Bolton.
This takes the total number of new arrivals at Hull in this transfer window to ten.
Barnsley have added some firepower to their squad. Striker Patrick Schmidt (21) arrives from Austrian Bundesliga side Admira.
Also arriving is Kenyan winger Clarke Oduor from Leeds United.
Leeds United have moved to replace the Burnley-bound goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell.
They clinched the loan signing of Illan Meslier from Ligue 2 side Lorient.
The 19-year-old played for France at under-18 and under-19 level, and made 30 appearances for Lorient last season.
