Both Leeds United and Hull City have been knocked out of the Carabao Cup tonight after losing their second round ties on penalties.
Leeds fought back from 2-0 to down to level 2-2 against Championship strugglers Stoke City at Elland Road.
In the shootout, the Whites lost 5-4 after Jack Harrison missed his spot kick. Stoke goalkeeper Jack Butland, who had been at fault for Leeds' first goal, netted the winning spot kick for the visitors.
It was a similar story for Hull City away at Preston. The Tigers were 2-0 down but came back to level 2-2 when Jarrod Bowen netted an equaliser deep into second-half injury time.
In the shootout, however, the visitors were edged out 5-4.
Sheffield United are our only team through to the third round of the cup. They beat Blackburn Rovers 2-1 at home, with goals from Richard Stearman and Oliver Norwood.
Meanwhile Grimsby's home tie against Macclesfield was postponed after the heavens opened up at Blundell Park. The game was tied at 0-0 at half-time when torrential rain halted proceedings. Two pitch inspections later the tie was called off.
