A man has been taken to hospital after a noxious substance was thrown in his face in the Harehills area of Leeds.

Police and paramedics were called to the Today store in Harehills Lane, at around 2.15pm today.

Witnesses claim the man ran to the nearby Asda supermarket after the attack, by two men on a motorcycle, wearing balaclavas.

The injured man was taken to hospital for treatment and police are appealing for witnesses.

Our enquiries are at a very early stage and we would like to hear from anyone who witnessed any part of the incident or who has any information that could assist the investigation.”
