A mother will be sentenced today for the murder of her two teenage sons.
Sarah Barras admitted killing Blake and Tristan Barras, aged 14 and 13, at a house in Sheffield in May.
Sheffield Crown Court heard that Barrass tried to poison them with a cocktail of tablets the night before.
She and a family friend Brandon Machin had planned to kill all six of her children because she feared they would be taken into care.
The courts heard from the barrister for Sarah Barrass that she was profoundly damaged by her childhood and was motivated to try to kill her six children only when she realised they may be taken into care.
Barras and Machin have both pleaded guilty to murder, attempted murder and conspiracy to murder and will be sentenced later this afternoon.
