North Yorkshire woman paralysed after being hit by van visits schools to talk road safety

A woman from North Yorkshire who was left almost fully paralysed after being hit by a van while crossing the road, is going into schools to teach children about road safety.

Lauren Doherty was walking home from a friend's house in the early hours of the morning in 2008 when she stepped into the road without looking.

She now needs 24-hour care.
