Rest of today: Windy and feeling cold with plenty of sunshine but a few showers, especially over the hills where wintry. Showers perhaps merging into longer spells of rain for a time this evening. Maximum temperature 6 °C.

Tonight: Any showers will die away during the evening followed by largely clear skies and lighter winds overnight, leading to a frost, mainly in rural areas. Minimum temperature -2 °C.

Thursday: Bright or sunny start. Becoming increasingly cloudy and locally windy ahead of a band of rain and hill snow, heavy at times, spreading northeastwards during the afternoon. A cold day. Maximum temperature 4 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday: Remaining unsettled and often windy with spells of rain and showers through the period, wintry over hills. Gales likely in places on Saturday and Sunday. Rather cold throughout.
