Kirklees police make food donations to help those in need this Christmas

Kirklees Police have donated hundreds of pounds worth of food for people in need this Christmas.

Instead of giving cards and presents to each other, two weeks ago officers were asked to make a food bank donation and soon festive favourites started to pile up in police stations.

Around 15 boxes of food, drinks, essentials and Christmas treats have now been given to local charities.

This was a fantastic idea to help people across the District. We know for a variety of reasons people can struggle to make ends meet, especially at this time of year and I was extremely proud and humbled to see the amount of contributions that were made.
