A public meeting is being organised by parents who live near the scene of a drive by shooting in Sheffield which left a 12 year old boy with serious injuries.
The incident on Errington Road, in the Arbourthorne area , has been described by police as an horrendous crime.
It happened while the boy was outside a sandwich shop on Sunday afternoon with three of his friends when the shot rang out.
He was in the line of fire and became the innocent victim of a bitter dispute between two organised crime gangs in the city.
The Assistant Chief Constable of South Yorkshire police, has made a personal appeal to the local community for help - saying he has a 12 year old child and it's impossible for any parent to imagine quite how horrific this is.
Jennifer Jones who is a mother of two says families are living in fear because of rival gangs operating on their estate.
