Man in court accused of attempted murder after schoolboy injured in drive-by shooting

A 25 year old man is due in court after a 12 year old boy was injured in a drive-by shooting in Sheffield.

The police said the 'innocent' 12-year-old boy had been with his friends outside a sandwich shop at Northern Avenue on Sunday January 12, when the shooting happened. He was taken to hospital for surgery on a gunshot wound to his leg.

Stephen Dunford, of Fellbrigg Road, Sheffield, has been charged with attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and has been remanded into custody. He is due before magistrates in Sheffield this morning (Saturday January 18, 2020).
