Thousands of small animal enthusiasts flock to Doncaster for famous show

Thousands of small animal lovers descended on Doncaster Racecourse this weekend for the UK's largest and longest-running small animal event.

It was the 98th annual Bradford Premier Small Animal Show and it brought together enthusiasts and breeders of cavies, chinchillas, gerbils, hamsters, mice, rabbits and rats who compete for the ultimate honour 'Best in Show.'

Originally held in Bradford, this year's event attracted people from around the world, including the executive director of the American Rabbit Breeders Association, Eric Stewart, who was invited to be a judge.

The Show Director, Laura Fox, said there was more going on than ever before to entertain the crowds.

We've seen people flock to come and see the rabbit show jumping and we had Guinness World Records here to witness two record attempts in relation to that. We also had a record-breaking rat which does the most tricks in a minute which was phenomenal to watch. And most importantly we've seen so many people attend who are so passionate about their animals and want to celebrate the happy and healthy wellbeing of them.
