Grimsby man jailed for 10 years after being convicted of raping woman on Cleethorpes beach

A man from Grimsby has been jailed for 10 years after being convicted of raping a woman on Cleethorpes beach in August last year.

Mohammed Uddin, 45, of of Augusta Street, Grimsby, had denied being involved in the attack.

However today, following a trial at Grimsby Crown Court, the jury found the restaurateur guilty of raping the woman after he came across her sitting on the beach in the early hours of August 22.

This was an opportunist attack on a vulnerable woman who will be left dealing with the impact of his actions that morning for the rest of her life.
