A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man found with serious injuries in Barnsley last week died over the weekend.
The 46-year-old man was found by paramedics last Thursday after they were called out to an incident on Monsal Street, in the Thurnscoe area of Barnsley.
He was taken to hospital where he remained in critical condition until he died yesterday afternoon. His family have been notified and are receiving support from specially trained officers.
Detectives are now treating their inquiry as a murder investigation and continue to appeal for information about the circumstances surrounding how the man came to be injured.
A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in police custody.
Two men, aged 31 and 41-years-old, have been arrested on suspicion of assault. Both have been bailed pending further enquiries.
