Leeds woman with cystic fibrosis joins friends and family for 'self isolating' charity run

A woman from Leeds who has Cystic Fibrosis has been joined by more than 30 friends and family to take on a five kilometre 'self-isolating' run.

Jess Spoor who was born with the genetic lung disease enjoyed a full and active life until two years ago when she started suffering from repeated chest infections and had to leave her job.

The 31 year old was a keen runner and regularly attended the gym until her health deteriorated.

She is fundraising for grants to support others with CF during the pandemic and says running can be challenging with the condition.

In August last year, Jess cycled on her electric bike from Leeds over the Pennines from Whitehaven to Tynemouth, raising over £6,500 for Cystic Fibrosis Care.
