Humberside Police say they were overwhelmed with the kindness and support from their local community and businesses this week, when 1124 confectionery items were sent to the team at Preston Road Police Station.

Holderness Road Poundland store chose to donate to the Hull East Neighbourhood Team, and over 3 days the store collected 562 donations from the community, which the store then doubled.

Sweet treats were generously donated as a gesture of thanks.

Neighbourhood Inspector for East Hull, said:

We’re very proud to be a part of the East Hull community and we are so grateful to the local shoppers and the Holderness Road store for their act of kindness. This unusual time has shown how communities can come together to be there for one another.
