People leaving litter with the easing of the lockdown are being warned that they face hundreds of pounds in fines.

There have been large gatherings at beauty spots during the warm weather, and there have been complaints about a huge increase in rubbish left behind.

North East Lincolnshire Council says it will hand out spot fines of two hundred pounds for littering, with other councils following suit. Wakefield Council says tidying litter costs 2.7 million pounds a year.
