A new archive collection depicting the country in lockdown has been launched by Historic England today.
The exceptional images, many taken in our region, show everything from key workers , home haircuts and empty towns to lockdown leisure activities.
For the first time since the Second World War the public were asked to help create an archive capturing a moment in time.
Historic England received almost 3000 submissions, 200 images feature in the Picturing Lockdown Collection, which can be accessed free online. The images document seven days in lockdown from April 29 to May 5.
