South Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses after a pedestrian suffered serious injuries following a collision in Sheffield.

According to police, at 11.38am on Tuesday 2 June, a blue Ford Fiesta was in collision with a pedestrian on St Mary's Gate, at the junction with South Lane.

The 45-year-old man has been taken to hospital with serious head injuries.The 21-year-old driver of the car was not injured.

While carrying out investigations, officers closed two lanes of the carriageway for several hours.

Anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have dashcam footage, is being asked to contact South Yorkshire Police.
