Police in Ashfield have seized more than £700,000 worth of cannabis in the last month.

Officers discovered more than 400 cannabis plants at a semi-detached house in the latest in a series of high value raids.

A 21-year-old man arrested and released on bail. The plants will now be destroyed.

In the last month substantial cannabis grows have also been discovered at two other addresses in the district.

Officers forced entry to a property after a tip-off from local residents. Cannabis plants worth approximately £180,000 were seized from inside.

Another house was also raided by officers with a total of 235 plants with a street value of up to £230,000 were recovered.

These were all substantial, highly sophisticated cannabis grows and I'm delighted that such a significant quantity of drugs has been taken off our streets in such a short space of time.
