Firefighters tackle lorry fire on A15 in North Lincolnshire as road is closed in both directions

The A15 has been closed in both directions at Barnetby due to a lorry fire.

At around 7.45am on Tuesday 14 July, Humberside Police said officers were called to reports of a lorry fire on the northbound carriageway close to Barnetby.

A spokesperson from Humberside Police said:

At just past 9.30 am, firefighters said they had safely put out the blaze, but they expect the road to be closed for some time.

Posting to Twitter, Humberside Fire & Rescue said:

There have also been major queues on the M62 near Goole after the road was closed in both directions between junction 35 and 36 due to a police incident.

Humberside Police said the road has now reopened, but motorists are being advised to avoid the area. In a statement, the force said:
