North Yorkshire Police say they have yet to issue a single fine to anyone failing to wear a face covering inside shops and other businesses.

Last month the government announced that anyone breaching the new rules without a legitimate reason could be forced to pay a £100 fixed penalty.

But, with the rules being widened from tomorrow to cover places like cinemas and museums, the North Yorkshire force told ITV no-one had been penalised.

Reporter Tom Sheldrick visited Northallerton to ask traders if the rules were working.
