Huddersfield MP Barry Sheerman announces he won't stand at the next general election

The Huddersfield MP Barry Sheerman has announced he's to stand down at the next general election.
He is the oldest Labour MP and the second longest-serving MP in the House of Commons. In a post on social media, Mr Sheerman says the 42 years he has served the town has been the 'honour of my life'.
He goes on to thank his constituents for the kindness, support and warmth they have shown him but adds that it is 'time for change'.
