A flood warning has been issued for Bolsover on Sunday evening as concern grows about rising river levels. The Environment Agency issued the warning for the River Doe Lea at the Bolsover Coking Works and Neverthorpe.

Officials say water levels are rising steadily but significantly at Buttermilk Bridge. The Environment Agency has opened its incident room and says staff are closely monitoring levels on the rivers Don and Rother.

Flood warnings are also in place for the River Ouse at Naburn Lock, near York and the River Derwent at Buttercrambe Mill near Stamford Bridge. There has also been localised flooding throughout the region. Firecrews have been trying to clear flood water at Ruswarp near Whitby.
