Adlington praised in Parliament
Double Olympic gold medallist Rebecca Adlington has been praised in Parliament amid mounting speculation that she will announce her retirement from swimming.
The 23-year-old from Mansfield will make a "major announcement" at a press conference tomorrow.
Mansfield MP Alan Meale has tabled a Parliamentary motion praising Adlington's "outstanding athletic career" and adding that her "success and selfless character led her most admirably to be described then and since as the golden girl of British swimming".

Nick Clegg: I will run in next election - and I'll win
Sheffield MP and Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg has confirmed he will be running for Parliament at the next general election, and says he is confident he will remain leader of the Liberal Democrats.
Mr Clegg was speaking during a visit to meet students and apprentices at Penwith College in Penzance, Cornwall, today.
Asked about his own future - and to predict his own role in politics following the 2015 election - the party leader said: "I will be MP for Sheffield Hallam and leader of the Liberal Democrats."
