Aftermath of 'mini tornado'

Residents have today been counting the cost in the aftermath of the torrential rains and fierce gales which ripped through parts of Hull yesterday leaving a trail of destruction.

The dramatic and unseasonal weather, described by some residents as a "mini-tornado" caused havoc in the Hopewell Road area and surrounding streets in a suburb of the city.

Trees were uprooted, tiles were pulled from roofs and cars were crushed. Today the clear-up began, but the council says it will take until the end of the week to clear all the debris. Adam Fowler reports.
