Huddersfield Giants academy player Ronan Costello is in a critical condition after being seriously injured in a match on Saturday.

The U19 centre, who has been admitted to Leeds General Infirmary, was injured in the game against Salford City Reds and the match was abandoned as a result of the incident.

"Huddersfield Giants academy player Ronan Costello remains in a critical condition in Leeds General Infirmary. The club respectfully asks that all supporters respect the wish for privacy and sensitivity for the family at such a difficult time"
