Sexual assault in Halifax

One of the men police in Halifax want to speak to - he may have spoken to the victim

Police are seeking witnesses after a report of a serious sexual assault in Halifax on a 19-year-old woman on Friday.

West Yorkshire Police want to speak to four men who are believed to have been near the scene and possibly spoke to the victim. It is thought they may have information about what happened.

The officer leading the investigation, Detective Chief Inspector Jon Morgan, said: "Despite the time of the day there were plenty of people around Halifax town centre at the time. If you were one of those people then please come forward with information."

Anyone who has information should call 101.

Serious assault in Spalding

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was seriously injured in an attack in Lincolnshire.

The man suffered head head injuries after the attack, on Sunday in Spalding, and is now in the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham.

Two local men, aged 17 and 19, have been arrested on suspicion of GBH and are currently assisting police with inquiries.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact them on 101.


Man seriously injured in Scarborough assault

Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault in Scarborough which left a man with serious injuries.

The victim, a man in his 50s, was taken to Hull Royal Infirmary suffering from head injuries following the incident outside Scholar’s Bar on Somerset Terrace at around 11pm last night.

His condition is today described as critical.

Officers were called to the scene of a large disturbance outside the bar which led to the man being injured.

A 22-year-old man was arrested close to the scene and is currently in police custody for questioning.

Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them.

Search for man in connection with sexual assault in Whitby

North Yorkshire Police are appealing for help to find a man in connection with a sexual assault on a teenage girl in Whitby last weekend.

Detectives want to speak to Gheorghe Mighali, 27, of no fixed abode, to help the investigation.

He is known to have visited the Whitby area on or around Tuesday March 5. He was seen in Middlesbrough on Thursday March 7, in Hartlepool on Friday and Newcastle the following Tuesday.

The incident in Whitby occurred in the Stakesby Road and Station Avenue area between 9pm and 10pm on Saturday March 9.

The victim, who is aged in her mid-teens, was approached and sexually assaulted by an unknown man.

Appeal after assault in Huddersfield

Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault yesterday afternoon in Huddersfield.

At around 3:15pm a male student in his twenties was walking along Whitehead Road when he saw a group of men asking a woman for a cigarette.

The woman was heard to refuse and walk away, at which point the victim was stopped by the group of men who asked him for a cigarette.

The victim refused and was then threatened for his mobile phone. Fearing for his safety, the victim gave the suspects cash instead of his phone and tried to walk away.

Following the victim, one of the suspects headbutted the man, who then also had his watch stolen. The suspects then made off in an unknown direction.

The main suspect was a man with brown hair, wearing blue jeans and a brightly coloured jacket. The other suspects could not be described.


CCTV appeal after New Year's Day assault in Hull

Hull police have released a CCTV image of a man they wish to speak to in connection with an assault that happened early on New Years Day this year.

The incident happened at the Relax Bar on Spring Bank in Hull and left a 32-year-old male victim with serious head injuries.

Police were contacted by staff at Hull Royal Infirmary after the injured man arrived at hospital.

The victim stayed in hospital for a week but took a month of work to make a full recovery.

The suspect is wearing a green coloured Puffa style jacket and officers are urging anyone who recognises him to contact Humberside Police on 101 referring to log 522 of 01 January 2013 or ring Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Witnesses sought to Elland assault

Police are appealing for witnesses to an assult in Elland, near Halifax, to come forward. A 29 year old woman was walking along Beech Street at midnight on August 15th when she was confronted by a man.

She fought back, suffering minor injuries, and her attacker fled. He is described as white, 5' 10", medium build with stubble. He was wearing a black hoddie top and and black trousers.

This is the image of a man police in Huddersfield want to speak to after a 19-year old woman was assaulted in the town centre.

At around 10am on July 8th the victim was walking along Ramsden Street when she was approached by a man who began talking to her and asking her personal questions.

The victim carried on walking to New Street but was followed by the suspect, who began shouting at her, then grabbed her by the arm, spinning her around.

The suspect then threatened the victim, telling her that he would, 'see her later'.

Fearing for her safety, the victim went into a nearby shop.
