Police HQ to become a hotel

The former South Yorkshire police headquarters is to be turned into a hotel.

The old West Bar police station in Sheffield is to undergo a £9 million revamp. The Hampton Hotel will have 142 bedrooms and is expected to be open by next Spring. The building - which is five storeys high - was used by the force from 1965 until it closed last year.
