A man who died after being struck by a falling tree has been named as John Arthur White.
The 83-year-old man was riding his mobility scooter through King’s Park in Retford, when the tree fell.
Police were called to the scene at about 1.50pm on Thursday 5 December.
An ambulance attended but Mr White was pronounced dead at the scene.
The park has been closed until further notice.
Hundreds of people were evacuated from a theatre in Retford last night when a fire broke out during a performance. A curtain caught light backstage at the Majestic Theatre. The five-hundred strong audience had to leave the building. Two teenagers were taken to hospital as a precaution.
A motorcyclist has been left with serious injuries after a crash with a car.
At around 5.10pm on Wednesday a blue Citroen C2, driven by a 30-year-old woman from Anston, Sheffield, was waiting at the junction of Kieran Close, next to Murphy’s Depot, to turn right onto Rotherham Road, Dinnington.
It is believed that a blue Yamaha motorcycle, ridden by an 18-year-old man from Retford, was travelling along Rotherham Road towards Outgang Lane, behind a red van.
It is understood that the red van indicated to turn left onto Kieran Close, at which point the Citroen pulled out onto Rotherham Road.
The Yamaha reportedly began to overtake the van, when it came into collision with the Citroen.
The rider was thrown from the motorcycle, sustaining two broken ankles, and was taken to Rotherham District General Hospital. The driver of the Citroen was not injured.
Campaigners against the closure of Ambulance stations in North Nottinghamshire are holding a demonstration today. The East Midlands Ambulance Service wants to shut Worksop and Retford community ambulance stations.

A family in Retford is appealing for thieves to return tapes containing irreplaceable footage of special occasions which was stolen from their garden shed. The material was taken along with a silver camcorder from the shed in Thrumpton Close.
Anyone with information about the burglary, or who knows where the tapes are, is asked to contact police.
Police are appealing for any information about a man missing from Retford since the weekend.
Dennis Froud was last seen by a friend at his Ranskill home at about 4pm last Friday.
Mr Froud is 5ft 10ins tall and was last seen wearing a black leather jacket and jeans.
