Two men remanded in custody accused of murdering Doncaster boxer Tom Bell

Two men accused of the murder of a Doncaster boxer have been denied bail following an appearance at Sheffield Crown Court.

21 year old Tom Bell died in hospital after being shot through a window at the Maple Tree Pub in Balby last week.

28 year old Joseph Bennia, and Geoffrey Gocoul, who's 29, have been remanded in custody and will go on trial in May 1.

Care workers on trial over alleged abuse of patients

Four health care workers have gone on trial at Sheffield Crown Court accused of abuse against vulnerable patients. It's alleged to have involved people with learning difficulties at the Solar Centre at St Catherine's Hospital at Balby.

The prosecution say the four ill treated and physically assaulted them James Hinds (59), Susan Murphy (44), Julie Burge (49) and Michael Barnard (50) deny all the charges against them. The trial is continuing .
