Son pays tribute to 'great' dad after fatal motorcycle crash

The son of a motorcyclist who died in a crash near Spilsby has paid tribute to his father saying he was a great dad.

Mark Wallace was killed whilst riding his motorbike on the A16 at Keal Cotes when he was involved in a collision with a blue Rover car.

The 52-year-old died at the scene. His son Sam Wallace said:"He was a great dad, always there for me and he will be deeply missed".

Police are making a fresh appeal for witnesses to the crash which happened around 5.38pm on Thursday July 14.

US trip offered to Flying Scotsman enthusiast after Virgin photobomb

A man from Lincolnshire has been offered a trip to the United States after a Virgin East Coast train photobombed his view of the Flying Scotsman.

Ryan Allen from Spilsby caught the moment an express train ruined his view of the steam locomotive as it whizzed past in the village of Little Bytham.

He even tweeted that he had been 'waiting all day'.

Virgin Trains saw the tweet and have offered Ryan the trip of a lifetime to Atlanta, Georgia by way of apology.

Urgent appeal for missing woman with autism

Police have issued an urgent appeal for help in finding a vulnerable missing woman.

20 year-old Lorna Smith was last seen at 1.15pm this afternoon, after she wandered away from the grounds of Toynton Hall, near Spilsby, where she attended college.

Lorna has severe learning difficulties and autism so there is great concern for her safety if she is walking on a public road.

Lorna is 5' 8" tall with long, curly, brown hair. She is wearing a long, grey speckled cardigan over a black dress and white, 3/4 length leggings.

Anyone who has seen Lorna, or who has any information that may help the search, is asked to contact Lincolnshire Police urgently on 101, or 999 in an emergency.

A pedestrian has been killed after being hit by a car early this morning in Lincolnshire. The man, in his 50s, died in the accident involving a Jeep on the A16 near the junction with Boston Road in Spilsby.

Police are looking for witnesses to the crash which happened at about 00:30 GMT, or anyone who saw the man, thought to be local, walking along the A16. The road was closed for investigations until around 7am this morning.

Missing man in Lincolnshire

Police are appealing for a missing man to get in touch and let his family know he is safe and well.

Tony Benton, 33, was last seen on Tuesday afternoon when he left his home near Spilsby to travel to work in Ingoldmells by bus. Tony did not arrive at work and has not been in contact with his family since.

Tony is of short height, slim build, and has short brown hair. He is thought to have been wearing jeans or black jogging bottoms, grey and black trainers and two coats; one which is dark blue with a thick hood and the other is dark brown with fur around the hood.

He would also have been wearing a red baseball cap or woolly hat and carrying a blue shoulder rucksack.
