Protests over disability benefit cuts

Protests in Hull Credit: ITV Calendar

Protests are taking place today in Hull, Sheffield and Leeds over planned cuts to disability benefits.

Campaigners say the private firm ATOS, which is employed by the Government to assess the sick and disabled, is unfairly deciding many are fit to work and should lose their welfare cheques.

Protests against ATOS are being organised by Disabled People Against Cuts (DPAC) to coincide with the opening of the Paralympic Games in London.
