Leeds Carnegie have received a major boost ahead of their British & Irish Cup Quarter Final against Plymouth Albion this Friday, with the signing of prop Charlie Beech from Aviva Premiership side Bath.

Beech has been on loan at Headingley Carnegie this season from Bath, but has now agreed a two-year contract to remain in Yorkshire.

The 26-year-old has previously played at Northampton and London Wasps as well as Bath and had offers to remain in the Aviva Premiership.

Commenting on the new deal, Beech said:

"I am really pleased to be up here playing rugby and being part of a team that has aspirations to go somewhere in the next few years. It is a young team and I am enjoying being one of the older players.

"I would have loved to have a guaranteed place in the Premiership next season whatever happens, but I am at a good club and that is what is important. "
