Former England manager Glenn Hoddle has called for Hull City midfielder Tom Huddlestone to be brought back into the national squad.
Hoddle spoke out after being disappointed with the performance of Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere in an unfamiliar holding role in Thursday's 5-0 Euro 2016 qualifier win against San Marino at Wembley.
Hoddle felt Wilshere's passing ability is not good enough to pull off playing in that position.
And he feels Huddlestone is the ideal man to fill that place in the side.
Hoddle said: "I'd say Tom Huddlestone should still be there. We shouldn't have thrown him out the window.
"As a holding player, if they're going to play one who can spray it about, he's the best passer England have got now (Steven) Gerrard's gone, in my opinion. Both long and short."
