First glimpse of Lincoln spire built to honour Bomber Command

A spire in Lincoln which will be taller than the Angel of the North is being built to honour thousands of aircrew who served with Bomber Command and did not come home.

The steelwork company behind the 31 metre tall structure, which will stand within a memorial garden on Canwick Hill - has given our cameras access to film it being made.

The firm also says the structure is nearly finished - and will be erected next month. Kate Hemingway reports.
