Friends 'overwhelmed' by response to global blood donation appeal

The student at the centre of a global blood donation appeal remains in a Thai hospital but is said to be 'out of danger' - thanks to donors with her rare blood type who came forward after friends put out an appeal.

A friend of a Leeds student at the centre of a global appeal for blood donation has thanked people for their response.

Lucy Hill was just one week into her gap year after when her moped was hit by a car on Saturday morning.

Her friend Lauren Hall was there when the accident happened and set up the Facebook appeal to find donors with the rare A-negative blood type..
